Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
At least 10 people sustained serious injuries in a major road accident involving seven vehicles on National Highway 48 in Rajasthan’s Dudu region on Friday. The accident occurred when one of the vehicles reportedly lost control, triggering a chain reaction and resulting in a pile-up that injured multiple passengers.
The crash took place on a busy stretch of NH 48 near Dudu town, a known transit point for workers and commercial transport. The initial vehicle that lost control is believed to have swerved abruptly, leading to collisions with six other vehicles trailing behind. The force of the collision caused significant damage and chaos on the highway.
Eyewitnesses said local residents responded quickly, rushing to the site and helping rescue the injured. Emergency services were informed, and the injured were transported to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention. Some of the victims reportedly suffered fractures and head injuries, though no fatalities have been reported so far.
According to preliminary reports from authorities, most of the injured were employees of a solar company based in Dudu. They were on their way from Padasoli to Dudu when the accident happened. The workers were travelling in one of the vehicles that got caught in the multi-vehicle collision.
The police have initiated a probe into the exact cause of the incident and are working to determine whether it involved mechanical failure, overspeeding, or driver negligence. Traffic on the highway was affected for some time before authorities managed to clear the road and restore normal flow.
Officials have urged drivers on the stretch to remain cautious, especially as NH 48 has witnessed similar incidents in the past due to speeding and dense traffic. Further details are awaited as investigations continue.
